Take me Home

Although born locally in the Bay Area, my dad’s job required that the family move locations every 3-4 years . As a result, I grew up in several towns throughout Northern California. The frequent changes were difficult, but allowed me to better appreciate differences in people and adapt to new situations quickly.

A circuitous path led me to where I am today. I attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration. Prior to graduation, however, I began to research other career choices because I did not feel that business would be completely fulfilling. After much thought and many prayers, I kept coming back to the same conclusion… I wanted to be a nurse practitioner. A longstanding interest in medicine coupled with my personal experiences with amazing nurse practitioners suddenly made life seem so clear and I decided to pursue becoming a nurse practitioner.

With the support of my wonderful family, I continued school to become a registered nurse. After graduating from Samuel Merritt College in Oakland, I began working (and occasionally still do) as a nurse in labor and delivery at the Kaiser hospital in Walnut Creek. I still never tire of the miracle of birth.

In 2004, I graduated with my Masters Degree in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Samuel Merritt College. Even before working in labor and delivery, I knew that the area I have always felt most passionate about is women’s health. For this reason, I began working in a small private practice specializing in gynecology in Concord.

I have known Dr. Wells for many years and have appreciated his caring ways as a physician. I was very pleased to have the opportunity to work closely with him and Jennifer Boyce, and look forward to providing gynecological and obstetric care in a warm and supportive practice. I believe educating patients is important, and plan to do so as part of individualized treatment. I view every woman as unique and important and strive to provide high quality care in a non-judgmental and comforting setting.

Although I love being a nurse practitioner, the true loves of my life are my husband and our great families. My husband and I feel very fortunate to live in Walnut Creek where we can enjoy spending time with family and friends.
